Dr Saito from The National Cancer Institute in Japan describes in this lecture with video clips the techniques used in his institute in Japan for Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) of early cancers of the oesophagus, stomach and colon. 

Dr Saito provides an overview of the methods and results of treatment of early gastric cancers by EMR and ESD, describing chromoendoscopy using indigocarmine, conventional EMR using a strip biopsy technique, use of the insulation tip (IT) knife and other knives for ESD in the stomach, indications for ESD, complications of ESD, disadvantages of ESD, perforation during ESD and the closure of perforations using endoclips, use of a magnetic anchor to retract mucosa during the ESD procedure, and also use of ESD in the oesophagus and also the colon. 20 minutes.
